Membrillo fried cakes

  • This is a recipe that is completely from Uruguay we use to eat this cakes with tea specially in rainy days. Can be made also with some mermelade of your choice or dulce de leche that is also delicious, but im more traditional so i like this ones. Enjoy! Hope your loved ones like them.

    Ingredients needed:
    ½ kg flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cds white vinegar
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cdta
  • oil
  • quince candy
  • sugar 


Sift flour and salt, in the center put the egg, room temperature butter, vinegar and enough warm water to form a dough of soft consistency,  knead well and hit it on table. Let it rest an hour, stretch it and  paint it with oil and spreaad the cornstarh and the baking powder  by sifter, fold  the dough like it be for spaghetti overlaping the roll in 3 parts, stretch  it and make triangles filling them with a teaspoon of smashed quince candy with boiling water. Fry them in oil or grass when they be golden brown put them in a bowl covered with kitchen paper, and sprinkle with sugar inmediately.
